Democrats are vilifying Vladimir Putin after his biggest political opponent abruptly died in an obscure prison colony, a victim of political persecution. Yet many of these same Democrats have hysterically demanded the imprisonment and even death of America’s GOP presidential frontrunner, Donald Trump.
Alexei Navalny, imprisoned for being Putin’s high-profile political opponent, had reportedly gone missing last year and then resurfaced in a remote Arctic Circle prison colony. That might have been preparation for his assassination, as he suddenly died at the age of 47.
Back in 2020, Navalny was reportedly poisoned on Putin’s orders, though it is always difficult to find out the truth in such cases. In any case, reactions from American leftists to Navalny’s death, while rightly condemning Putin’s political persecution of him, totally ignore the similar political persecution Democrats endorse here.
Yes, Putin was trained as an intelligence officer by the evil and vicious KGB. He has killed off numerous journalists and political opponents before — there’s a reason he and Communist China’s genocidal dictator Xi Jinping get along so well right now. He is a brutal dictator. That does not mean America doesn’t have some aspiring authoritarians of its own.

Even Joe Biden himself, the king of money laundering, lying, and feloniously mishandling classified documents, reportedly said in private he wanted Trump prosecuted for the events of Jan. 6, 2021, according to The New York Times. Biden’s FBI and Department of Justice (DOJ) have overseen the political prosecution of peaceful pro-lifers and Jan. 6 protesters. Under Biden, J6ers have been tortured in jail and denied not only rights but also basic necessities.
Biden is a total hypocrite. “Today, I send my deepest condolences to Aleksey Navalny's staff and supporters who will continue his work, despite Putin’s attempts to stamp out opposition,” he posted on Twitter/X. “May God bless Aleksey Navalny.” And may God judge Biden, who is trying to weaponize the U.S. justice system against his opponents only a little less brutally than Putin did.
Neither should Vice President Kamala Harris get any credit for her alleged “sorrow and outrage” over Navalny’s death — she compared Jan. 6 to 9/11 and Pearl Harbor. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) disgustingly used Navalny’s death as a tool to demand more money America does not have for Ukraine.
House Democrats’ leader Hakeem Jeffries did the same. Both Schumer and Jeffries aggressively besmeared the Jan. 6 protestors, and they also supported the partisan lawfare against Trump, condemning those who criticized it.
The leftist media and Democrat politicians labeled Jan. 6 protesters, even those who were peaceful and some who never entered the Capitol, “domestic terrorists” threatening the very survival of America. Meanwhile, Democrats continue to demand and promote biased censorship of their political opponents online.
I bet none of these Democrats will ever admit that they, just like Putin, are using Soviet-style tactics to target political dissent in America. Many media personalities don’t see the contradiction in cheering today’s controversial ruling against Trump while simultaneously mourning Navalny.

A whole long list of celebrities daydreamed publicly of Trump’s death after he was elected president, including Kathy Griffin, Madonna, Rosie O’Donnell, Johnny Depp, and Snoop Dogg. Democrat Stacey Plaskett “accidentally” said that Trump “needs to be shot” over alleged mishandling of classified documents. A Democrat Missouri state senator posted on Facebook in 2017 that she “hope[s] Trump is assassinated!” Did the Democrat Party reassess its violent hatred of Trump? No. Not then, not now.
Alexei Navalny died a victim of Putin’s political persecution. But as we look at the actions of the Democrats in recent years, we have to ask ourselves if, under their disastrous leadership, we are starting to become dangerously like Russia.
