When a member of the Marxist elite claims that he should have the right to assist kids in carving up their bodies or killing their unborn babies regardless of parental consent, beware — he is championing the idea that is arguably most immediately and thoroughly destructive of society.
As the late, great G. K. Chesterton once noted, the most poisonous and pernicious statement an elitist or Communist could make is that all children belong to society. Yet leftists now explicitly argue that they should be allowed to pressure minors into gender “transitions” or abortions without parental consent and that other people’s children are theirs to mutilate and manipulate.
May 29 was the 150th anniversary of the birth of prolific and brilliant English writer Chesterton, so it seems particularly appropriate to reflect on the following passage from one of Chesterton’s many essays. In “On the Child,” Chesterton was addressing a statement made by a contemporary political lady, making the same statement a century ago that leftists make now: “We must care for other people’s children as if they were our own.” Chesterton slammed the sentiment (emphasis added):
And when I read those words, I smote the table with my hand, like one who has suddenly located and smashed a wasp. I said to myself, ‘That’s it! She’s got it! She’s got the exactly correct formula for the worst and most poisonous of all the political wrongs that rot out the entrails of the world. That is what has wrecked democracy; wrecked domesticity through the breadth and depth of democracy; wrecked dignity…that is what has taken away from the poor man the pride and honor of the father of a household…his children are not his children; and democracy is dead…
She does not comprehend a word of the terrible sentence that she has spoken’…[it’s this:] ‘We, the rich, can take care of poor people’s children as if they were our own. As we have abolished their parents, they are all orphans.’
This pernicious philosophy would not only undermine society, Chesterton predicted, but it would allow a disturbing amount of control by the rich. He was prophetic, and even more so than he realized. The LGBTQ perverts and the abortion death cultists both want to groom, cut up, and brainwash kids without the knowledge or assent of their parents. Chesterton would, rightly, be completely horrified.
”There is no such thing as someone else’s child. No such thing as someone else’s child. Our nation’s children are all our children,” Joe Biden quoted a former teacher during an April 2023 event. It’s a view shared by abortion supporters.
Libs of TikTok recently highlighted one such leftist, “Meet Jason Saidoo. A school board member of Caledonia Community Schools in Michigan. When discussing a policy which would allow the school to refer students for abortions, he said the decision should be ‘in the hands of teachers who can make the best decisions for them [students]’ They think they own your kids. They want to cut out the parents and they aren’t even hiding it.”
Planned Parenthood and other abortion clinic representatives were recently exposed for trafficking minors across state lines to obtain abortions without parental consent. This triggered a new Tennessee law to protect both parental rights and vulnerable minors.
But of course, the transgender ideologues are equally eager to control children. Planned Parenthood was also accused of helping minors “gender transition” without parental permission. School employees across America have been accused for years of attempting to help kids pretend to be transgender without the knowledge or consent of their parents.
Father Dennis Hannon and parents Mary and Jeremy Cox have something in common — they lost custody of their respective sons for refusing to support the sons’ identifying as transgender. In the case of Hannon’s son, the little boy didn’t even want to masquerade as a girl! Chesterton was right long ago:
Our society has unconsciously and unresistingly admitted this great heresy against humanity. The notion of making the head of a humble family really independent and responsible, like a citizen, has really vanished from the mind of most of the realists of our real world…
[Humanitarianism] has shown an increasing disregard for the privacy of the private citizen, considered as a parent. I have called it a revolution; and at bottom it is really a Bolshevist revolution. For what could be more purely and perfectly Communist than to say that you regard other people’s children as if they were your own?
As the NYC drag march freaks chanted, “We’re here, we’re queer, we’re coming for your children.”
