I learned that former President Donald Trump rightfully won his reelection shortly after going to bed last night.
And while I still had a nagging feeling that there would be a sudden 3 a.m. ballot box dump that suspiciously benefitted Democrats, that fear was thankfully dashed as the news continued to say Trump had won.
Being in Peru, visiting my wife again for our first anniversary this Monday, I feel more relieved than ecstatic, although I am still happy.
On Jan 20, Trump will be sworn in, and we can finally, officially end this Biden-Harris nightmare we have been subject to for the past four years.
The border will finally be secure, the war in Ukraine (and Zelensky's profiteering) will end, Israel will no longer be held back in destroying Hamas and Hezbollah for good, and our nation's adversaries will be on the back foot once more.
And then there are all the domestic policies Trump will be able to get through with Republicans controlling the Senate (with Mitch McConnell stepping down) and the House looking like it will swing our way. Plus, Elon Musk's demolition of useless and redundant government agencies and the proposed Truth and Reconciliation Commission will expose just how deep the rot in our intelligence agencies goes.
Still, there are a few things we need to consider between Nov. 6 and January 20.
For instance, who is to say some deranged leftist will not try a third attempt on Trump's life? We saw it happen twice already precisely because the first two guys were thoroughly convinced Le Bad Orange Man was the second coming of Hitler, if not the Antichrist, according to the mainstream media, and Trump winning is bound to make someone so upset they will feel justified in preventing him from taking office.
On top of that, there is still the very real chance Democrats in office will try to find some way to prevent Trump from returning to office, as multiple Democrats, led by none other than Representative Jamie Raskin (D-Maryland), had previously said they will refuse to certify the results if he won.
As my friend Rick Moran noted, Raskin said he would only certify if Trump won fair and square, but because Le Bad Orange Man is so evil in his mind, it would be literally impossible for him to win honestly.
Then again, Politico is saying these same Democrats are walking back on invoking the 14th Amendment's insurrection clause to deny Trump his electors, so there's that.
Americans are sick of not being able to afford groceries; the massive crime wave and spike in rapes and murders committed by illegal aliens; the gender nonsense; their taxpayer dollars being sent to other countries for no feasible reason. Maybe they realize now that referring to these Americans as fascist garbage Nazis is not a winning strategy.
I am not entirely sure when I will return home from Peru, as return flight tickets are ridiculously expensive. Still, whether before or after the inauguration, I will return to the United States just as happy as when I came, knowing it is finally morning again here in America.
