It's an amazing thing to watch the Democrats desperately cling to power. It would almost be funny if their actions weren't so consequential. Within the walls of the U.S. Capitol, Democrats have abused procedural rules to their advantage, only to strip Republicans of the same ability when they had the chance to.
The filibuster went from being a crucial tool to protect the rights of the minority party when Democrats were in the minority to being a racist tool when they were in the majority. When that blew up in their faces under Donald Trump, one might think they'd have learned their lesson, but they haven't.
One of their favorite pastimes is accusing Republicans of things when the Democratic Party is guilty of them. A classic example is the recent push by Democrats to accuse Trump of wanting to use the Justice Department to target his political enemies at the same time that the Biden administration is literally using the Justice Department to target Joe Biden's political opponent, Trump.
In 2016, Democrats also made a big stink about alleged election interference. According to them, Russia was colluding with Trump's campaign to steal the election from Hillary Clinton. It was entirely fiction, of course, but that never stopped Democrats from using the claims to undermine Trump's presidency.
It should come as no surprise that the left quickly claimed that the 2020 election was the safest, fairest, and most secure election in history — while censoring anyone who claimed otherwise — and has since gone on to claim that Russia is once again attempting to interfere in our country's elections.
I'm sure Trump's lead in the polls has nothing to do with it.
Throughout this whole time, Democrats have railed against alleged foreign election interference, calling it a threat to democracy. While it's obviously just a pretext for disputing the results of the election if the outcome isn't what they want, one would hope that deep down they actually do object to legitimate foreign election interference.
Sadly, that's not the case. On Thursday, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) went all in on foreign election interference by announcing on the Senate floor that because he doesn't agree with how Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is conducting the war against Hamas, Israel should conduct new elections.

It was a highly unusual public call for regime change with an allied nation over a war that has been politically devastating for Biden in the midst of a presidential election, where the sizable antisemitic wing of the Democratic Party isn't helping Biden's own electoral prospects.
As far as election interference goes, it doesn't get more blatant than this, especially barely a week after Biden's hot mic moment after the State of the Union, where he indicated that he and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will soon have a "come to Jesus" conversation regarding the ongoing war against Hamas. Even Schumer, a Jew, is willing to sabotage an allied world leader to appease the antisemitic wing of his party in the hopes of salvaging Biden's chances of winning Michigan in November.
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) blasted Schumer on the Senate floor. "The Jewish state of Israel deserves an ally that acts like one," he said.
“It is grotesque and hypocritical for Americans who hyperventilate about foreign interference in our own democracy to call for the removal of the democratically elected leader of Israel," he added. "This is unprecedented. We should not treat fellow democracies this way at all. Things that upset left-wing activists are not a prime minister’s policies – they are Israel’s policies. Make no mistake – the Democratic Party doesn’t have an anti-Bibi problem. It has an anti-Israel problem."
Israel didn't take too kindly to Schumer's speech either. "Israel is a sovereign democracy. It is unhelpful, all the more so as Israel is at war against the genocidal terror organization Hamas, to comment on the domestic political scene of a democratic ally," Israeli Ambassador Michael Herzog said in a post on X/Twitter. "It is counterproductive to our common goals."
Former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett also blasted Schumer's comments. "Regardless of our political opinion, we strongly oppose external political intervention in Israel's internal affairs. We are an independent nation, not a banana republic," he said in a post on X. "With the threat of terrorism on its way to the West, it would be best if the international community would assist Israel in its just war, thereby also protecting their countries."
Without a doubt, Biden and Schumer have made political calculations, and they realize that the war in Israel is making it harder for Biden to win in November, and clearly, foreign election interference is a strategy they have no problem with.
