Before the debate, Donald Trump had a modest lead in national polls but led in most of the battleground states. One state, however, which was stubbornly close was Wisconsin. For most of May and June, Trump had the slimmest of leads in the RealClearPolitics average in Wisconsin — and by slim, I mean less than a point. However, for about a week, the average was a true tie, making Wisconsin the epitome of a toss-up state. Naturally, the Democrats have to use shenanigans to try to salvage the state.
As I've previously reported, Joe Biden can't afford to lose any of the Great Lakes battleground states. If he loses any of them, his path to 270 Electoral College gets extremely slim to almost non-existent.
So naturally, the Wisconsin Supreme Court had to step in. On Friday, the left-leaning court reinstated the use of unstaffed ballot drop boxes, which will allow them to be used in the upcoming election.
"Our decision today does not force or require that any municipal clerks use drop boxes. It merely acknowledges what (state law) has always meant: that clerks may lawfully utilize secure drop boxes in an exercise of their statutorily-conferred discretion," Justice Ann Walsh Bradley wrote in the majority opinion.
“The majority in this case overrules (the 2022 decision) not because it is legally erroneous, but because the majority finds it politically inconvenient,” Bradley added. “The majority’s activism marks another triumph of political power over legal principle in this court.”

The ruling overturns a July 2022 decision from when the court had a conservative majority. At the time, the court ruled that ballot drop boxes were illegal in Wisconsin. Conservative justices, in their 4-3 ruling, argued that drop boxes were only legal at election clerk offices. However, Wisconsin Democrats filed a challenge to the ban on drop boxes last year, a mere two weeks before the state’s high court flipped into liberal control. The suit argued the boxes “are critical for voters … who are unable to vote in person because of disability, scheduling conflicts, lack of transportation, or other hardship."
But that excuse doesn't pass the smell test.
"There’s ONLY one reason to promote voting 'drop boxes,' and that’s to cheat," Dan Bongino said in a post on X. "Anyone telling you otherwise is only doing so because they want to cheat, and they don’t want you to notice."
Wisconsin is hardly the only state where leftists have sought ways to steal the election. We've previously reported on Democrat schemes in Arizona, Pennsylvania, and Nevada, among others. The RNC thwarted the Democrats' scheme to steal Michigan, however, with a legal challenge.
Even the Associated Press admits that "expanded use [of ballot drop boxes] in Wisconsin could have major implications in the presidential race."
Wisconsin again figures to be a crucial swing state after President Joe Biden barely won it in 2020 and Donald Trump narrowly took it in 2016. Democrats believe that making it easier to vote absentee will boost turnout for their side.
