Democrats tried everything to stop Donald Trump from returning to office. They tried to put him in prison and boot him off the ballot. They failed. Despite the rejection of their agenda, they are now pursuing a strategy of rabid resistance. Today, their target is Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth—a man who’s got more patriotic conviction in his pinky than the entire Democrat National Committee combined.
It’s hardly surprising, though. The Democrats haven’t brought anything to the table to show that they have a popular agenda or the ability to govern. So, rather than working with the Trump administration to clean up the mess left by Joe Biden, they’re actively trying to undermine the administration.
They think Pete Hegseth will be the easiest target.
“What a big surprise that a few leakers get fired and suddenly a bunch of hit pieces come out from the same media that peddled the Russia hoax, won't give back their Pulitzers, they got Pulitzers for a bunch of lies,” Hegseth said Sunday during the White House Easter Egg Roll. “This is what the media does. They take anonymous sources from disgruntled former employees and then they try to slash and burn people and ruin their reputations.”
In fact, National Public Radio (NPR) even claimed that the Trump administration is already actively looking for a replacement for Hegseth.
“The White House has begun the process of looking for a new leader at the Pentagon to replace Pete Hegseth, according to a U.S. official who was not authorized to speak publicly. This comes as Hegseth is again mired in controversy over sharing military operational details in a group chat,” the outlet claimed. “The defense secretary is under fire after revelations that he shared classified information in a group chat with his wife, brother and lawyer, according to the official.”

“The source said Hegseth used the Signal messaging app on his personal smartphone, detailing minute-by-minute classified information about airstrikes on Houthi targets in Yemen,” the report continued. “It happened at about the same time in March that Hegseth shared similar details with top White House officials in a different Signal chat group that accidentally included a journalist. That leak, hours before air strikes hit, could have endangered U..S. pilots if that information about the timing of strikes was intercepted by U.S. adversaries. Already the Houthis have twice shot down American predator drones.”
Just reading NPR’s spin on the “Signalgate” story tells you they’re full of it. So, obviously, the White House dismissed the claims as fake news.

Let’s be honest about what’s happening here. The Democrats are fishing for a scandal, waiting for something to stick in the hopes that Trump will cave, but they were wrong. When asked about the latest smear campaign against Hegseth, Trump merely scoffed at the effort.
"Here we go again," Trump said. "Just a waste of time. He is doing a great job."
"Why do you still have confidence in him?" a reporter asked.
"Because he's doing a great job,” Trump said before adding, “Ask the Houthis how he's doing. Ask the Houthis how much dysfunction there is."

What this really exposes is a far deeper problem for the Democrats: Their ideology is hollow and their agenda is collapsing under its own weight. With no compelling vision and no credible leadership, they’ve resorted to manufacturing outrage and peddling phony scandals in a desperate attempt to derail Trump’s administration. They couldn’t stop his return to the White House, so now they’re clinging to chaos as a political strategy. It’s not just desperation—it’s an admission that the party has no real direction left.
