In his brilliant book Slouching Towards Gomorrah: Modern Liberalism and American Decline, the late, great Robert Bork warned of the dangers of activist liberal judges.
The book was originally published in 1996, and liberal judges have spent the two-plus decades since working overtime to prove Bork right.
Judicial activism usually involves crafting policy out of thin air where the legislative process failed for a liberal pet cause. Now it’s moving into the area of aiding and abetting criminals:
BREAKING: Boston-area judge hit with federal obstruction of justice charges for allegedly helping an undocumented immigrant escape a courthouse to elude ICE. https://t.co/0ILzSnd3Ba
— MSNBC (@MSNBC) April 25, 2019
From NBCNews.com:
A Massachusetts judge conspired with a court officer to help an undocumented immigrant slip out a back exit of a courthouse and elude arrest by immigration authorities, according to an indictment unsealed Thursday.
Judge Shelley Joseph and court officer Wesley MacGregor were hit with federal obstruction of justice charges for their role in aiding the defendant, who was facing drug possession charges in April 2018, according to an indictment by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Boston
The man, identified as A.S., was also facing charges of being a fugitive from justice in Pennsylvania when he was allowed to dash out of a rear entrance at the state courthouse in Newton, Mass., federal prosecutors said.
The liberal media’s use of the offensively euphemistic “undocumented” here doesn’t lessen the outrageous nature of a judge personally working to help a fugitive.
When those charged with upholding the law and meting out justice begin taking an arbitrary, feelings-based approach, the fabric of society is truly in danger of unraveling.
When they actively conspire to work against law enforcement it should cause grave concern for sane people on all sides of an issue.
