Angry Woman Accosts EPA Chief Scott Pruitt in a Restaurant

On Monday, a local teacher confronted Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Scott Pruitt while he was eating lunch in a Washington, D.C., Teaism. She just went up to him, her toddler in her arms, and told him to resign.

“Hi, I just wanted to urge you to resign because of what you’re doing to the environment,” Kristin Mink, a teacher at Sidwell Friends School, told Pruitt. She posted a one-minute video of the interaction on Facebook, and it has racked up more than 200,000 views.

“This is my son, he loves animals, he loves clean air, he loves clean water,” she continued, gesturing to her 2-year-old and reading off of a notepad to list Pruitt’s scandals and alleged crimes against the environment.

“We deserve to have somebody at the EPA who actually does protect our environment, somebody who believes in climate change and takes it seriously, for the benefit of all of us, including our children,” the teacher said. In other words, she would brook no dissent on the very questionable contention that human burning of fossil fuels is the largest contributor to increasing global temperatures.

“So, I would urge you to resign before your scandals push you out,” Mink concluded. In her Facebook post, she claimed Pruitt left without responding, but did not show video of his response or lack thereof. In posting the video, Mink linked to a Sierra Club petition to oust Pruitt.

Pruitt’s life has likely been threatened more than any previous EPA administrator, leading to increased security — which of course becomes another “Pruitt scandal” for the Left to complain about. Some have described the threats against Pruitt as “a wave of eco-terrorism against the Trump administration.”

This confrontation at Teaism is only the latest in a recent string of harassment directed toward the Trump administration. The owner of the Red Hen restaurant in Lexington, Va., kicked White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders out last month, and liberal protesters set out to keep Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen up all night.

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) infamously called on protesters to give Trump officials “no sleep,” pushing for constant harassment against them in restaurants and gas stations. The New York Times ran an op-ed justifying such incivility on the grounds that President Trump is a “professional racist.” On Sunday, Washington Post columnist Jennifer Rubin — an erstwhile conservative — called on liberal protesters to harass Sarah Huckabee Sanders for the rest of her life.

“Sarah Huckabee has no right to live a life of no fuss, no muss, after lying to the press — after inciting against the press,” Rubin menacingly declared. “These people should be made uncomfortable, and I think that’s a life sentence frankly.”

It seems protesters are taking this call to harassment to heart in confrontations with Sanders, Nielsen, and now Pruitt. Oh, and in other news, Rand Paul just faced his third death threat in a little more than a year.
