Police Order Conservative Radio Station WMAL Evacuated Over Suspicious Package

On Thursday afternoon, the conservative radio station WMAL, based in the Washington, D.C., area, was ordered evacuated by police.

“Suspicious package received at WMAL. Building evacuated. Police and fire are on scene. We’ll be back with you live as soon as we can, but for now enjoy our ‘Best of’ programming on WMAL,” the radio station announced on Twitter.

Larry O’Connor, a radio host associated with the station, posted a photo of the evacuation on Twitter.

O’Connor said he had seen “the package” mailed to WMAL. “Though it does not look like the other packages we have seen the past day or two, there were some similarities. DC police examined it and immediately ordered full evacuation.”

Update:

Police have given the all-clear.

Coincidentally, Republican Senate candidate Corey Stewart was at the building during the evacuation.
