Gavin Newsom Is 'Shocked' to Discover How Intolerant Democrats Are. Stop Laughing.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom is shocked to learn that his political party is “judgmental” and considers him to be “disloyal” for thinking thoughts contrary to the zee pahty.

Don’t get too excited. Newsom, who has glommed onto every conceivable dumb idea promulgated by Democrats, is taking incoming from his own party for saying words he didn’t really mean about boys playing in girls' sports. He did so on his “I Want to be President Podcast” (unofficial title) in which the clout-chasing candidate talks to popular conservative leaders and pretends to be sympathetic to their ideas.

As Rick reported recently, Newsom agreed with conservative Charlie Kirk that it was “unfair” for boys to play in girls' sports.

“I think it’s an issue of fairness; I completely agree with you on that,” Newsom told his guest, Charlie Kirk, on the inaugural episode of his podcast "This is Gavin Newsom."

"It is an issue of fairness — it’s deeply unfair,” Newsom said. “I am not wrestling with the fairness issue. I totally agree with you.”

You know where this is going. He didn’t really mean it. Newsom, after all, is the governor who just last summer signed into law one of the most egregious assaults on parental rights ever. This was the bill allowing schools to refuse to tell parents that their own child — their own flesh and blood, whom they’ve known since before birth — had caught the trans social contagion. Unless the child gives “consent.” Yes, really.

The new law distorts by design the connection between parent and child and leaves space for the school to, in essence, take over the medical decisions of the child without telling the parents.

“Flip-flopping” Newsom, another epithet thrown from his party — hey, at least they didn’t call him a Nazi — also supportedthe California law signed by former Gov. Jerry Brown that allowed trans students to compete in sports and use bathrooms based on their gender preference.

So you always knew that his alleged change of heart, brought about by private discussions with himself, was either A) fake or B) Grade-A hide-in-the-corner cowardice. You can name your own experience in this scenario. I choose option A.

As Newsom told the L.A. Times in his well-honed politi-blob-speak, “I mean, we’ve been exploring this for a couple years quietly behind the scenes, and we … couldn’t land,” referring to his behind-the-scenes discussions allegedly with fellow Democrats.

What does that mean? Let’s ask leather chaps-wearing State Sen. Scott Wiener, who puts the S&M in the LGBT++@!!2spirit community in San Francisco. He told the Times, “Newsom’s comments were “devastating and depressing” from someone who had been such an ally of the LGBTQ+ community.”

Whoa. Fragging! At least Wiener didn’t firebomb Newsom’s Tesla — if he has one, I mean.

Even the gov's “'most loyal friends'” said they were shocked by his concern about "fairness" in sports and were "reevaluating their support for him," he told the Times.

But Newsom has clapped back with what is basically Hey, wait a minute, you guys.

He points to the legislation he signed last year that prohibited school districts from requiring teachers to notify parents about gender identity preferences, which the Trump administration launched a federal investigation over last week. He also noted his 2022 appointment of the first openly transgender judge in the U.S., Andi Mudryk, to the Superior Court of Sacramento County.

If you can’t brag about breaching the relationship between parent and child and putting a mentally ill judge on the bench, then what can you brag about?

Newsom figured those moves would burnish his record as a founding member of the Crazy Club. The farthest fringe of his party, however, is not palliated.

“I’ve had a solid, a solid record on a lot of issues, and for people to question, you know, to talk in disloyal terms, made me actually start to believe the critique from the right a little bit more,” Newsom said. “I always thought the right overstated how judgmental my party was, and I’ll be candid with you, I have a deeper understanding now of that critique than I ever, ever, ever understood.”

This must be the first time he's ever had a difference of opinion with Democrats. That tells you something about character and leadership.

Between this alleged softening on the boys-in-girls' sports issue and Pride Month losing major sponsors in San Francisco (as I reported recently in our West Coast, Messed Coast™ report), the gay pride paraders may use their whips and chains to go after Newsom.

After he uttered the word salad about “unfairness,” Republicans in the state legislature asked him to support their bill banning boys from girls’ sports to avoid the Trump Administration funding loss that will come if they don’t change things. Big shocker: Newsom refuses to take a position on the bill, which is wending its short life through the Democrats' common sense-killing machine.

Republican Bill Essayli responded, tongue in cheek, “This is stunning. Talk is cheap, Gavin Newsom.”

Oh, yes, we know what his words are worth.
