On Good Friday almost 2000 years ago, a frenzied mob in Jerusalem shouted for the criminal Barabbas to be released instead of the God-man Jesus Christ. Fast forward to 2025, and Democrats have their own Barabbas moment, ignoring American hostages in Gaza and other countries to demand the return of a deported illegal alien criminal.
Democrats never do care about innocent victims. They were delighted to weaponize the justice system against pro-lifers, concerned parents at school board meetings, Donald Trump, his allies, and Jan. 6 protestors, for instance. Democrats reward illegal aliens and violent rioters. Furthermore, Americans remain hostages of tyrannical governments and terrorists in multiple countries, without Dems caring a bit. Chinese dissident Miles Guo was imprisoned by the Biden administration and denied bail multiple times (unlike Austin Metcalf’s killer).
But when the Trump administration deported a violent, abusive illegal alien accused of drug and human trafficking to El Salvador, Democrats went full-on hysterical demanding his return.

Dozens of Americans were killed or kidnapped by Hamas on Oct. 7, 2023. Omer Neutra was one of the Israeli-American hostages murdered in captivity. Among the 59 hostages still held and abused by Hamas in Gaza, there are up to five Americans. Yet Democrats have largely expended their efforts not on trying to bring the hostages home, but on supporting Hamas or the jihad-loving Gazans. Democrats didn’t try to fly to Gaza to bring Omer Neutra home. But that’s what they’re willing to do for deported El Salvadoran Kilmar Abrego Garcia.

There are also up to four Americans still being held hostage in Venezuela. Why didn’t Democrat Sen. Van Hollen fly there instead of El Salvador? Where is Cory Booker’s aggressive message about Venezuela’s tyranny? Abrego Garcia is not a “Maryland father” beloved of all his family, a peaceful and lovable refugee. Journalist Andy Ngo reported of the deported illegal that “his wife repeatedly received emergency restraining orders for” domestic violence.

Ngo also highlighted the significant allegation that Abrego Garcia was a human trafficker helping illegals go from Texas to Maryland. The Department of Homeland Security stated the facts:
- Abrego Garcia was illegally in the U.S. and had a lawful deportation order.
- Garicia was arrested and found with rolls of cash and drugs.
- Garcia was arrested with two other members of MS-13.
- Two Judges found that Garcia was a member of MS-13.
- Garcia’s wife petitioned for an order of protection after instances of domestic violence.
The Democrats are screaming, “Give us Barabbas!” But like the first century Pharisees, they are likely to find that demanding aid for criminals instead of innocents will have the exact opposite effect they anticipate — and even destroy them in the process. They have sinned in betraying innocent blood (Matthew 27:4), and, something like Judas Iscariot, are committing political suicide in the process.
