Joe Biden is clearly a corrupt politician who has never been held accountable for his actions because he's enjoyed the protection of the media, the deep state, and his party. When the GOP regained control of the House, they took advantage of their power of investigation and uncovered a complex web of corruption tied to the Biden family. The evidence they've found appears to have gotten enough cautious Republicans on board that an official impeachment inquiry appears imminent.
But one Republican is nevertheless urging caution: Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
During an appearance on "Meet the Press," DeSantis warned that an impeachment inquiry could backfire on the GOP.
“So here’s what I think. I think that the Biden family, the amount of money that’s flowed into that family to me is corrupt. I think that it’s not been explained in ways that make any sense. And so opening an inquiry based on the facts that we have, I think, would be justifiable,” DeSantis told host Kristen Welker.
“However, I think they run the risk of doing an inquiry that doesn’t necessarily lead anywhere while they’ve been ignoring a lot of the problems that our voters are talking about,” he continued. “When I’m going through Iowa, Republican voters obviously are not fond of Joe Biden. Yes, they’re concerned about Hunter and all this money, but they’re more concerned about what’s happening at our border. They’re more concerned about what’s happening with the economy. They’re more concerned about federal agencies that are overstepping their bounds.”
DeSantis also cautioned that a Biden impeachment could be a distraction from the issues that are hurting Biden with the public.
Make no mistake about it: DeSantis makes some valid points. And, frankly, the media that endlessly reported on the Russian collusion hoax has done everything possible to downplay the evidence uncovered by the House Oversight Committee. They've even had the audacity to claim that the Republicans on the Oversight Committee have failed to uncover evidence of wrongdoing by Joe Biden.
There are basically two potential negative outcomes for the Republican Party if the impeachment inquiry does indeed go forward. Obviously, the first big risk is that some Republicans in swing districts may not be inclined to vote to impeach, which would undermine all the efforts put into investigating the Biden Crime Family. The other risk is that the impeachment inquiry, even if it ends with a successful vote to impeach Biden—which, of course, won't result in a conviction in the Democrat-controlled Senate—could get Democrat voters who have abandoned Biden over economic issues to flock back.

But the key question here is whether it's worth the risk to impeach Biden at the expense of uniting the Democratic Party behind him before the 2024 election. I would argue that it is worth the risk. Keep in mind that Democrats impeached Donald Trump over a phone call. How can Republicans not be justified in impeaching Joe Biden over financial records, wire transfers, personal checks, whistleblower and eyewitness testimony, video evidence, and more? And polls have already shown that a minority of Americans think Biden did nothing wrong.
There are risks involved in pursuing the impeachment of Joe Biden, but isn't it clear that impeachment exists exactly for cases like Joe Biden? Republicans have been very careful in their investigation, following the money and uncovering the network of shell companies used to launder foreign cash. If they don't pull the trigger on impeachment, that will only embolden Democrats to abuse their power even more.
