I honestly have no love for Chris Cuomo, but it's hard not to notice that he's changed lately.
After being ousted from CNN, Cuomo got himself a gig at NewsNation, and since then, we have occasionally heard him say things that sound different from the way he was at CNN. For example, last month he claimed that he would consider voting for Donald Trump in 2024.
“Do I think [Biden] is the best of us? No. Do I think he’s the best we can do as president? Absolutely not. Do I think he’s the best that Democrats can do? Hell no,” Cuomo said during an appearance on the "PBD Podcast."
“If you’ve got those two, though, are you going to sit it out?” host Patrick Bet-David asked.
“If it’s Biden-Trump? Look, for me, again: We survived a Trump administration. Would we survive another one? Yes. Yes,” Cuomo said. “I don’t think there’s any greater risk to America with him than with Biden.”
"And for people who are now going to attack me, and say, 'What are you talking about? Trump is like this crazy man!' Well look.…Nobody was trying to kill us when Trump was president in a way that they’re not now. If anything, there’s more hostility. And you can have reasons for that, any way you want. I’m just saying, existentially, I’m not afraid of a Trump presidency," Cuomo continued.
“So you’re open to a Trump vote?” Ben-David asked.
“I am always open. And I’ll tell you this: People say, ‘Oh, bullshit! You’ve never voted for a Republican in your life.’ Wrong. Not only have I, the first vote I ever cast was for a Republican.”
Could Cuomo have been completely full of it? Sure, absolutely. There have been countless times I've heard die-hard liberals claim to be moderate, independent, or "open to all sides." But, he still said it, and you don't exactly have many leftists admitting to considering voting for Trump. Why? Because it would be professional and social suicide for them.
But there's more.
Cuomo got to view raw footage of the October 7 Hamas terrorist attack on Israel, and spoke about it on his show.
"Today I was among the journalists who have attended a private screening of the raw footage of October 7th and I want to express to you what I saw since it’s not been made public," Cuomo wrote in a post on X/Twitter. "It’s been a very heavy day. A decision was made that Jews are less than human, and treated that way in words and deeds....I now know that’s exactly the message Hamas sent on purpose — at scale. I wasn’t aware of that before. I saw bodies were burned but I did not understand or appreciate how intentional the effort was -- they did it methodically, you hear it in the voices, the commands, the ease, the excitement of finding and mutilating victims."
You can watch what he said in the broadcast below:

On its face, what he said here is hardly something that most of us would consider brave or extraordinary, but in leftist circles, it is. You don't see leftists talking like this often. When it happens, it's a welcome moment.
