Democrats have made their choice—defending the absurd notion that biological males should compete in women’s sports. They believe in this so much, it's clear this is a hill they’re willing to die on. And they’re doubling down, ignoring science, fairness, and the overwhelming opposition from the American people. It’s truly baffling. Do they really think this is a winning issue, or are they just so beholden to radical activists that they no longer care about biological reality?
A recent New York Times/Ipsos survey found that the vast majority of Americans, including a majority of Democrats, don't think male athletes should be permitted to compete in women's sports. But when has the Democratic Party ever cared what voters actually want? Or about science and common sense?
President Trump recently signed an executive order banning biological males from competing in girls' and women's sports, a move that has forced many institutions to comply with basic common sense. The NCAA has capitulated, but Democrats in blue states are resisting.
The California Interscholastic Federation (CIF), which oversees the state’s high school athletics, is refusing to comply with the executive order, citing state laws prioritizing “gender identity” over biological sex. Minnesota State High School League is also refusing to comply, insisting that their organization is "subject to state anti-discrimination laws, which prohibit discrimination based on gender identity." And finally there’s the state of Maine, whose Democrat governor is thumbing her nose at Trump’s executive order.

The Trump administration has made their position very clear: comply with Title IX directives or risk losing federal funding. Mills, who must see this as an opportunity to increase her national profile, defiantly declared to Trump at a meeting of governors on Friday, "We'll see you in court." Trump simply replied, “I look forward to it.”
Maine Democrats are truly out to make a statement, too.
The Maine House of Representatives voted last week to censure state Rep. Laurel Libby for—wait for it—sharing Facebook photos showing a high school athlete competing in boys' sports one year and girls' sports the next. Truth is now considered hate speech in the Democratic utopia of Maine.
These flexes seriously baffle me.
Whether it’s in state houses, or on Capitol Hill, Democrats have gone all in on this insanely dangerous, radical ideology, and they clearly are willing to die on this hill. Remember, congressional Democrats nearly unanimously opposed the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, with just two House Democrats from swing districts voting to keep men out of women's sports.
Make no mistake, the lines couldn’t be clearer. On one side: biological reality, fairness in competition, and the rights of female athletes. On the other: radical gender ideology and Democrats so committed to their agenda that they’re willing to throw away federal funding, trample women’s rights, and abandon even the most basic common sense.
The Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act is expected to hit the Senate floor this week, according to Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.), and Senate Democrats will have their say. I have to wonder if this is really the hill Democrats want to die on.
