Jussie Smollett, the actor famous for fabricating a hate crime against himself on a frigid polar-vortex night in Chicago, is suing the city for “malicious prosecution,” as reported by TMZ. Smollett’s claims—that he was attacked by white men in MAGA hats and ski masks yelling “MAGA country!” as they beat him, poured bleach on him and tied a noose around his neck with a clothesline—fell apart in a spectacular way after an expensive and exhaustive investigation.
CCTV caught Smollet’s “attackers” buying all their supplies for the attack, including two red hats. at the local Busy Beaver. A check for $3500 made out by Smollett to African brothers Abimbola “Abel” Osundairo and Olabinjo “Ola” Osundairo was also found in the brothers’ apartment. The brothers confessed to carrying out the attack as planned by Smollett for attention. It is possible Smollett even planned it to coincide with his favorite politician’s new “anti-lynching” legislation that was passed shortly after the attack. Bill author Cory Booker (D-N.J.) even named the attack as one of the reasons the bill was needed.
“The vicious attack on actor Jussie Smollett was an attempted modern-day lynching,” Booker tweeted in January. ” I’m glad he’s safe. To those in Congress who don’t feel the urgency to pass our Anti-Lynching bill designating lynching as a federal hate crime– I urge you to pay attention.” Unbelievably, Booker has not deleted that tweet.
The Smollett drama embarrassed lots of high profile people, including Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx, who is being investigated for mishandling the case and dropping the charges against Smollett after improper communications with his family.

Smollett still denies any involvement in the attack and says the Osundairo brothers who gave police the story are liars and in league with Chicago police. We are to believe, I guess, that the Chicago PD has nothing better to do in the most violent city in America than come up with a grand plan to frame a third-rate actor and embarrass their city nationally in the process.
This new lawsuit comes after the city of Chicago sued Smollett for the costs incurred in investigating the fake hate crime.
One thing is for sure. Smollett will never cop to his role in the hate hoax, but his inability to know when to call it quits is at least highly entertaining.
