After President Trump called the press “an enemy of the people,” Press Secretary Sean Spicer opted to have a private press gaggle briefing and excluded certain media outlets. This action could be easily construed as banning certain media organizations from accessing the executive branch. But, in December, Sean Spicer told Politico (ironically one of the outlets banned yesterday) that allowing complete access for the press is “what makes a democracy a democracy versus a dictatorship.”
