Trump: Schumer Is ‘Not Jewish Anymore. He’s a Palestinian.’

The predictable howls of outrage have already begun, but all that Donald Trump has really done is what he does so very often: he has spoken honestly about an issue that others prefer to ignore or tiptoe around, and has once again demonstrated a preference for stating the truth in a colorful and memorable way rather than respect politically correct niceties. This is, actually, one of the reasons why leftists hate him with such incandescent fury.

Patriots love that Trump tells it like it is and doesn’t play the Emperor’s New Clothes word games that so many other politicians seem to assume are a requisite element of a career in what itself is euphemistically called “the public service” but is really a chance to feed at the public trough. Trump is honest, and so liars despise him.

And so, on Wednesday, Trump once again sparked the rage of those who know how things should and should not be said. While in an Oval Office meeting with Irish Taoiseach Micheál Martin, Trump said that Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-Sinister) "is a Palestinian as far as I'm concerned. You know, he's become a Palestinian. He used to be Jewish. He's not Jewish anymore. He's a Palestinian."

Schumer, Fox News reminded the world, “is the highest-ranking Jewish elected official in American history.” Nevertheless, Trump has said this before. Back on Feb. 6, touting his Gaza plan, the president wrote on Truth Social: “The Gaza Strip would be turned over to the United States by Israel at the conclusion of fighting. The Palestinians, people like Chuck Schumer, would have already been resettled in far safer and more beautiful communities, with new and modern homes, in the region. They would actually have a chance to be happy, safe, and free.”

And back in June 2024, Trump observed that Israel had lost a good deal of support on the left and added: “They don’t have the backing. Even Schumer, he’s become like a Palestinian. Chuck Schumer. Jewish. Always strong for Israel. He’s become like a Palestinian. It’s a very bad thing. It’s a very sad thing, and it’s a very dangerous thing.”

This came after Schumer turned against Israel as the Jewish state fought for its survival against the Hamas jihadis, who murdered 1,200 Israelis on Oct. 7, 2023, and would have murdered the rest of them if they had gotten the chance. Back in March 2024, Schumer said on the Senate floor: “As a lifelong supporter of Israel, it has become clear to me: The Netanyahu coalition no longer fits the needs of Israel after Oct. 7. The world has changed — radically — since then, and the Israeli people are being stifled right now by a governing vision that is stuck in the past.” He included a threat: “If Prime Minister Netanyahu’s current coalition remains in power after the war begins to wind down... then the United States will have no choice but to play a more active role in shaping Israeli policy.”

City Journal noted at that time that Schumer instructing Israel on their electoral politics was a demonstration of his “chutzpah, which connotes arrogance-laced presumption.” Schumer’s pressure on Israel to jettison its elected Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and hold new elections, or else” was, it said, “election interference, plain and simple.” City Journal also pointed out that “Schumer claimed Netanyahu is ‘allowing his political survival to take precedence over the best interests of Israel.’ But does anyone doubt Schumer is ditching Israel to save Joe Biden by placating his party’s radical left? Unsurprisingly, Biden praised the speech.” Unsurprisingly indeed.

As Trump said during his meeting with Martin: "These people are sick. They don't know what's happening in the real world. The Democrats have to get their act together.” He was talking about his plan to lower taxes, but he could well have said the same thing about the “Palestinian” Schumer. The left has abandoned Israel in pursuit of Muslim votes, as was abundantly clear during the 2024 presidential campaign, particularly when Old Joe Biden sent $10 billion to the “Death to America”-chanting mullahs of the Islamic Republic of Iran in March 2024 to help them finance their jihad against Israel.

Schumer is indeed, in terms of his loyalties and the policies he advocates, more on the side of the Palestinian Arabs than of Israel. The left will react to Trump’s words the way they always do, by accusing him of hatred, racism, and antisemitism, and as usual, again, they’ll ignore the actual point he was making. And that’s really all they can do. They can’t exactly deny the accuracy of what Trump was implying regarding where Schumer’s heart lies.
